The Professional Association of Self Caters UK (PASC) in conjunction with ASSC and Premier Cottages have drawn up detailed and meticulous cleaning protocols to keep our guests and ourselves safe, and to reduce the spread of Covid-19. These have been prepared specifically for the current situation and will be updated whenever further information is provided by government.
The Old Saw Barn has been accredited with the 'Good to Go' industry standard mark which means that we have followed government and industry COVID-19 guidelines, have completed a Risk Assessment and have a process to maintain cleanliness and aid social distancing.
We will follow these guidelines with care. We have done a risk assessment, a Covid awareness sheet and importantly a cleaning instruction check-list. We have purchased good quantities of PPE for our staff and our guests, and additional cleaning supplies and kits which are effective against this disease.
We will do two cleans: our usual deep clean followed by a disinfection of the cottage, paying particular attention to the flat surfaces and high touch points (light switches, door and window catches, bannisters, rails, remote controls, keys etc).
In addition, we have taken several other measures:
The Old Saw Barn will be further disinfected using a solution of Peracetic Acid, a Log-kill 7 rate (99.99998%) virucide approved by WHO for Coronavirus. We have also purchased room and furniture sanitisers.
All kitchen wear will be washed between guest visits, so this means that we will reduce the amount we normally would provide. This may mean that you have to use the dishwasher more frequently and so we ask for your understanding. Also some soft furnishings etc will be removed to reduce our wash load.
All towels, linen, mattress and pillow protectors, pillows, kitchen towels etc will be cleaned appropriately and then placed in quarantine for 7 days.
Visitor leaflets will be reduced and quarantined for 7 days. Also games will be removed, but still available on request. Remote controls will be bagged in disposable remote control sealed bags, which will be changed between guests.
Our welcome information has been moved on-line, so at the time of reservation you will receive your own Guest log-in. The welcome folder has been duplicated and will be quarantined for 7 days between guest arrivals.
We will provide each guest arrival with: hand sanitiser, anti-viral surface wipes and disposable gloves and towels. In addition we will provide a laminated sheet explaining the dangers of Covid-19, with an explanation of what we are doing to keep our guests safe.
Our welcome hamper has been amended and consists entirely of packaged items with a good shelf life which will be purchased in advance. It will still be yummy- with fudge, tea, local sweeties and biscuits etc..
A detailed explanation of these measures and some actions that we will respectfully ask our guests to do will be contained in a laminated sheet in the Old Saw Barn.
